Since joining the Golf Digest Schools in 1986, Mark Winkley has taught around the world. He has taught in Thailand, Australia, Europe and Singapore, as well as assignments across the United States.
As a contributor of instructional material to Golf Digest, Mark authored "The Lob: A Tough Shot Made Simple" in October 1996 and in March 1997 was featured on the cover for the "What Every Golfer Needs to Know" special section.
Mark is presently the Director of Instruction at The Estancia Club in Scottsdale, AZ. in the winter months. During the summer, Mark is Director of Instruction at Pine Meadow golf Club in Mundelein, IL. He has also taught at Ocean Edge Resort on Cape Cod, the Linkside Golf Center in Birmingham (AL), and the Northcrest Academy of Golf in Atlanta (GA)
Mark currently works with Pat Perez on the PGA Tour. He has worked with Ted Purdy (PGA Tour), and Dale Douglass (Senior PGA Tour). He also works with a number of Mini Tour players, including Eric Meierdierks, 2010 Illinois Open winner and leading money winner on the Gateway tour.
Although Mark attended Georgia State University on a baseball scholarship, golf became his principal sport upon graduation. He has become an exceptional teacher of the game, and conducts teaching seminars for head professionals and schools on club fitting.
